What we do

Fio is developing a portable point-of-care device capable of molecular diagnosis of multiple infectious diseases simultaneously from a small biological sample, such as human blood. Infectious disease is the leading cause of death, illness and economic disruption.

Fio is designing its device for distribution in human, animal, and environmental markets in the developed and developing worlds.

Fio's device converges nanotechnology, biotechnology, and information technology. Proof of concept has been established in HIV, hepatitis B and C, and malaria.

Most high-precision technologies for multi-pathogen detection are sequestered in clinical laboratories rather than available at point-of-care. Most point-of-care technologies are neither high-precision nor multi-pathogen. Fio's technological and business strategies are dedicated to overcoming barriers to the widespread use of high-precision, multi-pathogen diagnostics at point-of-care worldwide.
